This small pavilion is composed of 33 sheets of clear corrugated roofing sheets, deformed by heat and curved into a spiral, enclosing and obscuring the tower. A clear epoxy is applied to the sheets, and sand is sprinkled over the transparent surface, creating a gradient between sky and earth. A new horizon zone is established at eye height. Inside the textures and colors of the sandy ground are juxtaposed against the reflections of the un-sanded panes. The entrance is partially hidden, oriented to the water to channel the sound of the wind and the water inside to the middle of the enclosure. Protected from the wind and warmed by the light between the panes, which emerge from and are stabilized by the sandy ground, the visitor follows the flow toward the center, finding the tower. It is a moment of repose, between earth and sky, near and far, solid and air.
