a custom cabinet designed to house a short-throw projector. the arched form responds to the home’s interior, minimizing the impedance of the cabinet while optimizing the size of the projected image. 18mm baltic birch plywood is cnc cut and assembled into a frame. 6mm baltic birch plywood is curved and glued to the frame without visible fasteners. a hinged lid holds a sub-panel with embedded magnets. the triangular shape of this sub-panel is matched to the projector’s throw geometry. when the projector is not in use, the cabinet is used as a bench.
